Laser Aftercare
TattooMed skincare for laser-treated skin – how to get your skin smooth again in three steps
When you choose a tattoo, you usually choose it for the rest of your life. Usually, because sometimes a relationship ends, you're tired of your tribal, or you go for black instead of color. Well, then there's only one thing to do: get rid of your tattoo!
Nowadays, that's no longer a problem. Specially trained (beauty) specialists and dermatologists help you remove your tattoo with laser treatment.
The treatments are done in a number of sessions and, just like getting a tattoo, they are a small 'assault' on the skin. The use of a laser creates a wound. Logical. But if done with care and the right knowledge, there's no reason to dread it. And: if you use the right aftercare products, you help the skin to recover quickly in a healthy way.
TattooMed Laser Aftercare consists of L1 Akut and L2 Care. Both are completely adapted to the phases of skin healing. This ensures that the skin always receives the care it needs at the right time after laser treatment.
Do you want to know what happens under the skin during your tattoo removal? And how TattooMed's Laser Aftercare helps the skin heal? Then read on!
First aid for the skin after laser treatment
Tattoo ink lasts a lifetime. The color pigments cannot be broken down by the body and generally stay where they are. If you really want to get rid of your tattoo, only laser treatment helps.
During laser treatment, the color pigments are heated specifically under the skin and broken down.
You can imagine that the skin gets a little stressed from this. TattooMed L1 Aftercare Cream protects and cools the skin after lasering with a thin film and has a pain-relieving effect.
With daily use of L1, you speed up the healing process and prevent inflammation.
The damaged skin cells can recover better and no dry film forms on your wound.
Itching after laser treatment
You probably remember it from when you first got your tattoo; after a few days, the skin starts to itch and peel. After laser treatment, the skin reacts in the same way.
The damaged skin cells are renewed and the second phase of the healing process begins (and with it, the itching).
To ensure that the skin recovers quickly and maintains a healthy structure, we recommend applying TattooMed L2 Skin Repair lotion several times a day.
The lotion helps form new cells and relieves itching.
We absolutely advise against scratching the wound after laser treatment. This gives bacteria ample opportunity to proliferate, and before you know it, you'll have an infection on your hands.
Sun protection for lasered skin
Once the laser treatment is complete and the skin has fully healed, it is important to protect the affected skin from further irritation. The skin remains sensitive to sunlight. As a result, you are more likely to suffer from swelling, itching, and sunburn. Much more quickly than with untreated skin.
TIP: Prepare for laser treatment. Stay out of the sun as much as possible. This prevents unsightly pigmentation.
